Greetings and peace to all! Sorry for the break, but I got married last month so.. yeah, good reason. :) Now that I’m settling into my new life and home, I have a smidgen of time to post! I have two new decks of card games out, so that makes a total of 5 now! Also, I have stickers too! :D But first I will post some wedding things, now that it’s over. It was an artsy and crafty event, just the way I like it. :) Here is the Save The Date that went out beforehand:

01.Nov.2011 Color His Kingdom in Ethiopia

A few weeks ago, I posted coloring pages I did for children in Third World countries. A couple of artists and I have teamed up in an organization called Color His Kingdom. Our fearless leader took a trip to Ethiopia last month and was a blessing to numbers of children. Many of them had never colored before. Can you imagine never having colored as a toddler?! There are sooo many children in need and I pray that through Him, I use this gift given to me for the sake of kids that need it. Check out these pictures of these beautiful children coloring for the first time!

02.Sep.2011 Be Transformed

I spent Hurricane Irene upstate in Hurricane JESUS on our annual young adult retreat. This year, we focused on being transformed, so we painted transformers. :D Everything in church is applicable to life outside of it. Whoever said being a Christian wasn’t fun hasn’t met the Holy Spirit!!

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2

One of the things I’ve realized is that some professions make it much easier to live a self-centered life and being an artist is one of them. When I was in art school, everything was all about me and how I could get me and my portfolio ahead. It was such an up-and-down life because I defined myself by the level of critiques I got. If people liked my work, then I would feel good. But if no one had anything good to say, I would be back to hating myself within a moment. I never had any peace and it was absolutely exhausting. But, its not about what happens that matters, but more so the reaction afterwards. The more I centered everything around myself and my climb up the ladder, the more miserable I got, because it was never enough. Once I hit one point, I’d already be ready for the next.

On this retreat, I felt God telling me “When are you going to care about My acceptance?” When I base my worth on the world’s definitions, I will always feel defeated. I have had so many negative thoughts and critical things said to me replay in my mind. But Jesus is never changing and He is the only one that can change my mind and heart from within. If I already tired myself out without Jesus, then logically speaking, why would I even think of continuing to try without Him?

“When you change the way you look at that thing, the thing you look at begins to change. What goes on in your mind, will happen in time.”

25.Aug.2011 Name That Category!

Second set of flash cards to go on sale! “Name That Category!” helps little children to develop vocabulary, analytical, and organizational skills. This is what I do at my day job, along with designing books and learning materials. It’s such a great job, a combination of illustration and children!! ^__^  Working on a third deck….
